Prices
Only the editing unit price of foreign editing companies is higher than our price including translation, editing and proofreading.

These factors affect prices:

THE VOLUME OF THE TEXT
Refers to the calculation of the number of characters (keystrokes) of the text, without spaces.
THE AREA OF THE TEXT
Refers to the academic area in which the text is written (Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine...)
LANGUAGE PAIR
Refers to the source language and the target language from and to which translation will be performed.
NATIVE ENGLISH EDITING
Refers to the corrections or changes made by a professional editor who is a native English speaker.
Why Do We Prefer Character Unit Without Spaces?

Market quotes for translation projects are determined on a variety of scales, such as a fixed price, price per page, or per hour. However, these scales are not a professional unit of measure and not a standard of the Turkish translation industry. These scales are not recommended for several reasons. First of all, every source document is different and the concept of page can differ by various factors such as page structure, fonts and their sizes. Also, many countries use different page sizes.

The most suitable scale for transparency, fairness and budget allocation is ‘1000 characters without spaces’. A character is defined as a keystroke. A letter can be regarded as a character.

For projects from Turkish to English that we complete in 3 phases, our unit price includes the price of a native English speaker editor. We include native speaker editing even in the smallest translation projects that don’t have a strict deadline.

Prices for desktop publishing are determined on the basis of project.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Price Services:

  • Can you quote an approximate price if we make a phone call?
To quote a price, we need to see the text. Approximate numbers given during a phone call can be misleading. Therefore, we can only give information about our unit prices over the phone and quote a net total price after looking over the text.
  • Do you take the references section, figures and tables in the text into account while determining the price?
We determine the work to be done for the references section according to the request of the client. Unless the author has a special request, we do not include the section under the References in the pricing or the project process. If the Turkish reference names, titles of articles, dates etc., in the references section are required to be translated into English, we include this in the pricing. Figures and tables are included in the price. If there are inconsistencies between the values in tables and the text, both our translators and editors share them with the client by including comments. This facilitates the acceptance of an article by the journals. Tables and figures help the text to be more easily understood. Therefore, we kindly request that tables and figures not be deleted from the articles sent to us for translation. If these parts are missing from the paper, we ask the author to send them. In addition, our native English-speaking editors do not assume responsibility for papers with missing parts. We believe that all sections should be edited for consistency and integrity. Sometimes inconsistencies can occur between the use of the same terms in tables and figures and their use in other sections, and the same case can be true for the values given. In addition, there can be unclear expressions, subscales, etc. throughout the text, and they should be revised by referring to tables and figures. Inconsistency and ambiguity can be primary reasons for rejection. We expect our clients to show consideration for this issue.
  • How do you determine the price of translation? What does this price include?
We quote a price for the translation of 1000 characters (keystrokes), without spaces, based on the source text. The number of characters without spaces can be directly seen by clicking the “Word Count” tab in MS Word. The unit price of 1000 characters without spaces varies by the language direction and the academic field. Our translations from Turkish to English are edited in detail by our native English-speaking editors. These revisions are again checked by the translator who was responsible for the translation of the text. Editing and proofreading services are also included in the price of translation. We do not use the number of words or pages to determine prices as these are ambiguous units of measure in terms of translation. The number of pages of a text can differ when it is prepared using different page structures and font sizes. Therefore, we prefer not to use the page unit in manuscript translations.
